Terms and Conditions

 CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Once registration has been processed, deposits/payments are non-refundable.  Payments may be moved to a different class, within 60 days of the regularly scheduled class, as long as we are notified prior to the start of the class you are scheduled for via phone or email.  See no show and rescheduling policy below. 
  • CPR Skills Tests must be cancelled 24hours prior to test time.  A $25 fee will be charged for late cancellations or no shows.

 NO SHOW POLICY:

  • Any student who does not show up to class and does not notify us prior to the start of the class is considered a No Show and deposit is not eligible to be used to reschedule the class.  If you have paid in full and want to reschedule the class, there will be a $30 rescheduling fee for all classes with the exception of the ACLS and Instructor classes where there is a $40 rescheduling fee.

 RESCHEDULING POLICY

  • In order to reschedule a class, please call us at 631-724-3537 or email us at Pat@advancedtrainingcenterli.com  prior to the scheduled class.  Class may be rescheduled one time with no additional charge.  Classes rescheduled a second time are subject to a $20 fee.
  • ACLS and INSTRUCTOR classes are limited in size. Therefore, you must call to reschedule 48 hours prior to class.  Classes rescheduled a second time are subject to a $40 fee.
  • Classes may be rescheduled within 60 days of the originally scheduled class date.

 LATENESS POLICY:

  • Arriving late to class can be disrupting to the other students.  Therefore, please arrive on time. We recommend that students arrive to class 10 – 15 minutes prior to the start of the class. Any student that arrives late will be admitted at the Instructors discretion.  Arriving more than 15 minutes late to class will be considered a No Show. If the student is late for a rescheduled class, the student will be considered as a No Show and deposit is forfeited.  

REPLACEMENT AHA CERTIFICATION CARDS FOR CPR CLASSES OR NYS SECURITY GUARD CERTIFICATES

  • Please safeguard your cards/certificates.  In the event you need another one, please call the office to arrange payment.  
  • The fee for a replacement AHA Certification Card is $25 and may be picked up at the office.  If you need it mailed there is an additional $2 fee, for a total of $27. 
  • The fee for a replacement NYS Security Guard Certificate is $5 and may be picked up at the office.  If you need it mailed to you there is an additional $2 fee, for a total of $7.  
  • Students are responsible for the correct spelling of their name.  Student must check the spelling on the class roster at the beginning of the class to make sure their name is correct. If the student fails to notify the instructor that the name is spelled incorrectly, and the card/certificate is printed incorrectly, you will be responsible to pay the replacement fee in order to obtain another one.

 CREDIT CARD CHARGE BACK/DISPUTE:

  • If a charge is placed in dispute by the student (or the cardholder if it is not the student’s card) because the student (or the cardholder) do not recognize/recall this charge, the student is responsible for a processing fee of $25.00 in addition to the original charges due on the transaction.

Your privacy is very important to us. Any information you provide us when you register is kept strictly confidential and is never sold to outside vendors. We use this information only to provide you the services needed.

The basic first aid portion of the course covers patient assessment, bleeding and fracture management, cardiac emergencies and other acute injuries and illnesses. Students receive a credentialed course completion card good for 2 years.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Online is a self-directed course that uses interactive lessons and videos to teach you comprehensive First Aid, CPR, and AED knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

BLS Original Course

This course is for healthcare providers. Adult, child & infant CPR, foreign body airway obstruction in conscious and unconscious patients, use of barrier protection (pocket masks), bag valve mask ventilation (BVM’s) and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator are covered in this course. There is a written and skills evaluation. Students receive the BLS Providers course completion card good for 2 years.

Basic Life Support Blended Learning

Students will learn single-rescuer and team basic life support for adults, children and infants through 5 interactive exercises, scenarios and a written test. Navigation controls allow students to move easily through content as they learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilation and provide early use of an AED. Course also teaches relief of choking.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Renewal

BLS Provider Renewal Course

This course is for licensed or non-licensed healthcare providers and Lifeguards.
Students must show a current or recently expired BLS card prior to taking this course unless you are a past student of ours. All of the skills are covered and there is a written and skills evaluation. Books are available for review during the course. Students receive a course completion card good for 2 years. You may purchase a student e-manual during registration.

ACLS Original Course

Advanced Cardiac Life Support is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

Course uses learning stations for practice of essential skills simulated clinical scenarios that encourage Active participation.  Hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency.  Classroom-based works well for learners who prefer group interaction and instructor feedback while learning skills. 

A current or recently expired BLS certification card must be shown prior to class unless you are a past student of ours.

ACLS Practice & Skills Session

This is the practice/skills portion for the “Online ACLS with Skills check” for participants with a strong ACLS background. Keycode for the online classroom and test are purchased through the AHA website or you can purchase the bundle through us by choosing the Online ACLS with Skills Testing (HeartCode™ ACLS) course instead of just the skills session. Then you can schedule your practice and skills session with us.

We are an American Heart Association Authorized Training Center Serving Long Island

Advanced Training Center of Long Island is an official Training Center of the American Heart Association.   We offer emergency cardiovascular care programs to healthcare providers, workplace and community based rescuers, following the latest guidelines as set forth by the American Heart Association.  Our professional Instructors are all certified through the American Heart Association and have many years of experience teaching these courses.

We are committed to bringing quality emergency response training to every class we teach whether it be at one of our classes at our training facility in Smithtown, for your staff at your office or for family and friends in the comfort of your own home.

Since we are an Official AHA Training Center, certification cards are issued to you on the same day as your class. 

We offer certification in Basic Life Support Providers and ACLS (both the Original and Refresher Courses), CPR Instructor, Heartsaver CPR & AED, and Heartsaver First Aid.  Our class calendar contains all our scheduled classes in our Smithtown location.  Just find the class that is right for you and you can register right on-line.  Or, feel free to call us and we will process your registration for you.

American Heart Association Online Courses – Blended Learning with an Online Part and In Person Skills Testing

American Heart Association online courses let you learn at your own pace in the comfort of your own home or office at a time that is convenient for you.  Once your registration is processed, you will receive an email containing a unique key code that will allow you to access the online portion of your course.  You will then schedule the skills assessment portion of the course by calling our office and arranging a time that is convenient for you to come to our Training Center to finish the course.  You will receive your certification card the SAME DAY your skills assessment test is completed.
